Job summary
We are working with a listed retail company that has grown exponentially in value and its premium brand is much-loved and respected. We are looking to hire an exceptional commercial lawyer to lead up its legal function.
Job Responsibilities

- Supporting and advising on all types of commercial contracting (eg. supply chain, distribution etc):
- Advising on marketing, e-commerce, and branding matters from a legal, risk and commercial perspective.
- Managing M&A/JV/business development activity (while enlisting the support of external lawyers as and when required).
- Developing and leading corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters
- Overseeing the delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities
- Maintaining proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, state, and federal governmental bodies, legislatures, and the community at large
- Participating in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive management team
Experience requirements
- 1+ years PQE or more of relevant experience in a major law firm and/or an in-house legal department of a large corporation.
- Any of the following areas of experience are bonuses: Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain
- Extensive knowledge and experience in advising on contract and commercial law
- Proven track record of delivering consistently on complex projects under challenging and time-critical circumstances with a sense of urgency, but with the ability to also keep broader strategic objectives in focus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with significant experience and proven success in roles requiring an ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
Education requirements
- Strong academic credentials and demonstrated record of success as a lawyer.
