Our
Software Engineer Interns
are key to the future of our business as a big data company. Interns work on teams alongside full-time employees to complete a series real work projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Help build a contributory database using our open source platform:

- Complete proof of concept work in the areas of data processing, data mining and discovery, linking, search, content delivery, and web application development
- Assist in delivering group and individual instruction and training covering the HPCC Systems platform and its programming language (ECL), and associated proprietary software components
Qualifications:
- Software development experience (any language), Experience with at least one compiled language (C++ preferred) and one scripted language
- Big Data processing experience or ETL skills and Data experience (relational or unstructured)
- Familiarity and desire to work with functional or dataflow languages
- Experience with Unix / Linux Operating System
- Understanding of professional software development processes - including familiarity with the cycles of requirements definition, issue tracking, version control, automated testing, deployment and maintenance
- Teaching and facilitation skills with strong oral and written communications abilities
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to read and write English and Portuguese (English fluence desired)
- Nice to have: Experience with Scala, Clojure, Haskell, XML, WSDL and SOAP, SSL/TLS
We also offer internships for students attending colleges in other cities or states (Brazil only).
