Job Description

Reports to Customs/Airfreight Manager
Main Purpose of the Job
To work closely with the two companies in the Group and other customers (Internal and External) to ensure that the most competitive, cost-effective and shortest transit times for international air freight consignments are achieved
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act on all enquiries received from the customers
  • Act on instructions received from the customers
  • Make bookings with the airline and co-ordinate delivery and collection of cargo to the handling agents
  • Monitor the cargo to fly as booked.
  • Advise the customers of any non-conformances and propose resolution
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor day-to-day aspects of bookings, shipping, tracking and tracing of all airfreight consignments
  • Ensure that the correct rates are applied
  • All compliance issues with airlines and handlers are adhered to.
  • Maintain a filling system ensuring all the required documentation is filed and up to date
  • Perform any other tasks related to the overall objective of the position
  • Able to assist in other areas of operations as directed by management.
  • Escalate and address any points which results in non-compliance
Health, Safety and QMS:
  • Ensure QMS requirements are integrated into the departments business processes.
  • Implement continuous Improvement of business processes
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety protocols, including those for Covid-19 are implemented and followed.
General Admin:
  • Provide quick and responsive service.
  • Resolve received queries within KPI.
  • Keep abreast with the industry’s new products and services.

Inherent Requirements

Qualifications, Skills, Attributes
  • 1-3 years working experience in a relative role.
  • Excellent communication skills (internal and external customers)
  • Excellent planning, organising and controlling skills
  • Excellent time management, operationally driven and results focused
  • The ability to work independently
